Welcome to the 'facelift'
As I said in the test pages, the "Purple Bar Theme" had been around for way too long.
It was in actuality, a theme I recycled from a website I did in college, so it wasn't so fresh to
start with. The whole site has been changed now to use this theme.
I think it is a bit more fun this way.
So what's new? Well, my fine friend, there are more pretty pictures. You may have noticed the
ships to you left? Well, they are carrying explosives for your amusement, so click away if you get bored.
Unfortunately, the pilots are not so smart, so don't expect them to deviate much. But, it is good fun for a while.
(Expect them to be more educated in the future!)
Also, this version has improved Japanese support. Most pages are available in Japanese and English
pairs. While they are not exact translations, it is indeed an improvement over the last site.
Don't speak Japanese? Well, don't worry. You don't have to click the link...
There are a great deal of "empty pages" at this point. Basically, I am placing the sections now
and I will fill them as I can. I am going to try to provide more pictures again.
I must sadly announce that the large Pontiac section of the
old site will not be migrating to the new one. It is exceedingly difficult for me to keep fresh
information posted. As I live in Japan, I only see a Pontiac maybe once every month. Therefore, I will be
condensing the information to a single page on the Grand Prix.
I have the most personal experience and
passion for this particular vehicle, so it will remain. If I find there is sufficient interest, I will expand it
to it's own section again.
Where is the old stuff?
It is still here! Rather than move everything and have a lot of old, very out of date
info on the new site, I just moved the entire site into an archive! If you want to
go to the old site just click the link.
Non-Site News
This is a picture of a special happy car at the show.
You guessed it. It is the new Ferrari Enzo. This car was excessively difficult to
get to on Saturday. I had to wait until Wednesday to photograph it. It seems
every time I take pictures, there is one I wish that I had taken in high-quality mode.
And this is the one for this time, darn it.

I recently went to the Tokyo Motor Show. It was truly something to behold.
I was fortunate to receive a few tickets from a friend, so I was able to go twice.
This was indeed fortunate as I went first on a Saturday. It was as if an ocean
of humanity was sloshing about within the confines of the facility. Once could not extend
one's arms fully without hitting someone. Getting a good look at the
super cars was simply impossible. The wall of people violently pushing to get close to them
prevented it. Fortunately, it was not so crowded on Wednesday when I went again.
There were some truly impressive cars there, like the
Bugatti Veyron
, the Mercedes SLR McLaren,
and, my personal favorite, the Cadillac Sixteen. I took a plethora of notes and pictures. My favorite
area was the Subaru one as they had their engines and hardware well presented, the B-9 on display,
unlocked cars, and good brochures. Most of the cars at the show were locked. This was frustrating, but, perhaps
understandable simply due to the volume of traffic that would be passing through them!
I was least pleased with the Porsche area. While their cars were very impressive, the staff were not so helpful.
Allow me to explain. I was collecting extra copies of brochures so I could give some to a friend who could not attend.
Porsche was the only vendor of the entire show that refused me a second brochure. One other thing to
note about Porsche: I am not so sure they took this show seriously. Why? Well, they did have a very nice
break apart of their V-8 engine. However, upon close inspection of the open engine, it could be seen
that one of the pistons had been installed upside-down. (I have pictures. They will be up later.)
I hope this is not representative of the quality that goes into an actual engine...
Well, this blurb here is just that: a quick review. I will make a longer posting
in the Automotive section when I have all the
pictures ready.
