Welcome to my (gasp!) updated bio page where I am gong to (double gasp!) tell you a bit about myself and those lovely people that have contributed to my little endeavor (this site.)
The latest trend on the 'net seems to be building blogs. What is a blog? Well, my fine friend, it is a sort of online journal. Free of course. And it puts my homepage to shame in simplicity. That is, I can update it by just typing an entry, like a diary or a hit list. I don't have to mess with ftp or HTML tags or anything. Its simple and straight forward. But, lest this become an advertisement, I will go on... I will use the blog for some of my thoughts, and this site for others. There are times, like with pictures or tales of large events, where the blog is just insufficient. Just letting you know.
Well, the best song list proved difficult to maintain. Apparently, a monthly update was too much to ask of myself. So, with that mentioned, I am replacing the song list with a top album list. Though, I may still have a song list up periodically. In order for an album to hit this list, I have to have had it for more than 6 months and still listen to it often. Needless to say, this is hard for most modern albums to do, as most pop doesn't last much longer than its radio time. With that in mind, this is my list.
Boston: Greatest Hits
Cake: Fashion Nugget
Space: Spiders
Black Sabbath: We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'N' Roll
Dido: No Angel
This postings runner ups: Journey, Fighting Gravity, and Queen. Though, my fickle ways may change for next posting... Another good album worthy of note it India Arie: Acoustic Soul. Its hard to pin down exactly what style I like! I recommend strongly any of the listed albums.
Oh, if you find "Spiders", it's out of print, so if you are interested, pick it up when you see it. Come back later and it may be gone for good! I heard there was an import with a few extra songs. If anyone knows anything about it, let me know!
My hobbies are computers and technology. As you may have guessed, I am into cars, specifically Pontiacs, in a big way. My dream car is a '92 Firehawk. My dream job is head engineer of General Motors. At the time of this writing (who knows when I will update again) I am an teacher in Japan. This makes producing the Pontiac portion of the site difficult!
I also enjoy reading, though not always things of academic value. A daily does of Dilbert should be mandatory reading.
Well, as I am writing this, I am listening to "Peter Gun" (The Art of Noise) and "Stand Back" (Stevie Nicks). It has recently come to my attention that I am hopelessly addicted to 80's music. This realization was made when I shelled out for 4 best of the eighties type CDs. (Thats a whopping 79 songs!) Now, really I listen to anything that I think is good which ranges from rock to R and B to some J-Pop. Its hard to find good J-Pop, but anyway, there is good music in every genre. Though I am beginning to worry about this eighties thing. Why is it bad? Ever had "She Blinded Me with Science" stuck in your head?
If you like my site and want to drop an email, or just would like to point out an obvious spelling mistake (not at all my forte), please feel free to email me at webmaster@thecamshaft.net. Thanks for reading. Please enjoy my site!
Why am I critical of most things I here on the news or read in the paper?
Perhaps I feel there is a slant to what I am presented with. The book
Bias is a book from in the news industry that will give you a new
perspective of all the media presents you with. I highly recommend it.
